Abstract Funding Acknowledgements Type of funding sources: None. Background and Objectives Real-world trends in the utility type gatekeeping studies invasive coronary angiography (ICA) requires further investigation. Methods We identified outpatients who underwent noninvasive cardiac tests or directly ICA for suspected artery disease (CAD) from nationwide Korea Health Insurance Review Assessment Service-National Patient Sample database between 2012 2018. Results Among 71,401 patients, percentage patients were evaluated CAD was 34.7% treadmill test (TMT), 4.2% single-photon emission computed tomography (SPECT), 24.2% (CCTA), 1.6% multiple gatekeepers, 32.3% without (Figure 1). The proportion CCTA as a gatekeeper showed linear increase, (18.6% 28.8% 2018; p < 0.001), while those TMT, SPECT, direct have decreased (p 0.001, = 0.03, respectively). overall incidence downstream after 13.8% (6,662/48,346), SPECT higher rate pairwise comparison with TMT 0.001). Patients performed gatekeepers before subsequent PCI (34.7% vs. 32.3%; 0.001) CABG (3.5% 1.0%; compared to ICA, associated revascularization Conclusion Nationwide demonstrated that is utilized increasingly high CAD.

value of coronary artery calcium scoring in iranian patients suspected to coronary artery disease.

coronary artery calcium scoring (cacs) is a reasonable test for patients with the possibility of atherosclerosis. it can also be used for reclassifying the coronary artery disease (cad) to the high-risk status by higher cacs and subsequently modifying the management of the patients.the purpose of this study was to investigate the association of cacs to the severity of coronary artery disease in...

Coronary Artery Disease Diagnostic Performance of 64- versus 256-Slice Computed Tomography Coronary Angiography Compared with Conventional Coronary Angiography in Patients with Suspected Coronary Artery Disease

Purpose: The newer 256-slice computed tomography coronary angiography (CTCA) has the capability of improving diagnostic performance in the detection of obstructive coronary artery disease (CAD) compared to 64-slice CTCA. The aim of this study was to compare the diagnostic performance of 64versus 256-slice CTCA in two similar populations. Methods: Our study included 120 consecutive patients who ...

Stress testing and non-invasive coronary angiography in patients with suspected coronary artery disease: time for a new paradigm

Diagnosis and management of coronary artery disease represents major challenges to our health care system, affecting millions of patients each year. Until recently, the diagnosis of coronary artery disease was possible only through cardiac catheterization and invasive coronary angiography. To avoid the risks of an invasive procedure, stress testing is often employed for an initial assessment of...
